Madison, Amanda Johnston, Remica Bingham-Risher, Gabrielle Lawrence-Cormier, JP Howard) This panel is a tribute to poet, playwright, novelist, Ntozake Shange, and her play, for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf. Each panelist will read a short excerpt from the work and discuss its enduring relevance. Panelists will also discuss how the "choreopoem" and Shange have influenced them personally and professionally as poets, activists, and educators. Panelists will also share the importance of this work in the contemporary classroom across curricula. We hope to see you there!
