"...the signature of God's success..." Wow! LaVerne, what a lovely poetry present! So beautiful, powerful, feminine, flowery, and inspiring JUST LIKE YOU! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!

Bathed and blushed in history's flow another year, a deeper glow a bigger heart more wisdom, more wit a bit more wise . . . I'm so blessed to know your willing and courageous smile is always full of are stories we can share without uttering a single word . . . My sistah, my love, my confidant even tho we are miles apart our spirits and our smiles continue to touch and keep the torch within our hearts alive with the love that silently shouts out for all to experience that, "Yes" we are unshamedly and apologetically, sharing sistahs and the signature of God's success. Written on the spur of the moment by LaVerne Corine Williams Foster Hall, especially for Tamara, but to be shared with all sistahs who can live in the experience "between the lines!" May 7, 2014

Thank you so much, Melissa! I enjoyed every bit of it and appreciate it more than you know! Your audience/students were warm and receptive and inviting. And what great questions! Perhaps we can work together in the future!

Wow--you are a goddess on the stage--and you didn't even show perspiration!!!! Or was that you heating up the upstairs room with your firey words! I feel so lucky that you are in Georgia, such a beautiful heart and poet--my students and I are forever moved!!!

LYRICAL ADDICT Your body haunts me... taunts me... Your smile intoxicates me Yet I've never seen you up close I remember from a different life the taste of you I envision our legs wrapped up in each other Our passionate nights are engraved in a distant memory Moments in time When you and I held each other Makes me long for... What was What is What will be Between us How can that be... when there is no us.. This fire between you and I Pulls me closer to you This flame burns across distant lands Creating frequent flyer miles to my heart It pulls me closer to you every single moment in time Butterflies carry my longing for you It rests on your window pane Remnants of my whispers are in the wind What I would do to see you walk across the room To feel your presence in my own To share my Sofrito seasonings to your Southern Boy The sound of your baritone voice stops me in my tracks Bringing forth lyrical nourishment to my inner core Those who know you are consumed by your unique tone Lyrical creations that destroy sound barriers Your mind brings you to a time of Created assimilations Bombarded vibrations Special excavations Of wet walls that were once inhabited by fools I'm an addict that infiltrates your words Tapping my veins on a daily Veins engorged with lyrical crack Need to detox from similes, metaphors, and linguistic sounds created by your pen Yet I am guilty of going back for more Knowing that feigning for more will awaken this hunger That can consume me on a daily Ticket in hand Knowing that I have no plans Of what's to come The future is promised to no one Yet I look forward to that day When your presence is before me Standing tall and illuminated with the mere presence of you When that moment comes Our you & I's will evolve into US Into wholeness Into completeness... © Aminah Love 2013
